OUR SERVICES

We believe that we have a responsibility, the proper tools and education to give you the capacity to control your own health and destiny!

DIZZINESS & VERTIGO

Dizziness and vertigo is a very common complaint and is one of the most common reasons people consult their physician. Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) is an exercise-based program, designed by one of our specialized physical therapists to improve balance and reduce dizziness-related problems. Through an extensive evaluation that starts with medical history and includes analyzing posture, observing gait (walking), a variety of balance testing and analysis and measurement of eye-head coordination to see how well a person’s eyes track a moving object with or without head movement. This gives us information on how your balance systems (sensory information from your eyes (visual system), muscles, tendons, and joints (proprioceptive input), and the balance organs in the inner ear (vestibular system) are working.

SPORTS INJURIES

We have experience working with athletes from little league, high school, and college to the NBA. We are specialists when it comes to sports and orthopedic injuries. In fact, we have one of the only board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists in Idaho Falls. We are passionate about proper precaution and rehabilitation following athletic injuries and have extensive protocols to make sure that when you return to the field/court/pitch or ice you are 100%!

STABILITY & BALANCE DISORDERS

The human balance system is a complex integration of information coming from 3 main systems (eyes, ears and muscles/joints of the body). When one or more of these systems is not working properly it may result in a balance disorder. This may be a result from disturbances in the ear, the neck, the eyes, the muscles and joints, the nervous system connections of these structures or a combination of these. At Belnap & Brown physical therapy we have the proper equipment and education to differentiate between the systems to help us design a more accurate plan to help you overcome your balance problems.

CONCUSSION & HEAD INJURIES

Concussions can cause a myriad of symptoms and visual deficiencies. We can teach you exercises that will help your eyes work better together and have less dizziness related to your visual challenge. We have been certified in the management of concussions in sports training! We are passionate about proper precaution and rehabilitation following mild traumatic brain injury (MTIB)/concussions. The typical goal is to gradually lessen difficulties you are having with eye strain, eye/reading relatedheadaches, and
visually provoked dizziness.

TMJ & HEADACHE MANAGEMENT

Your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn. Problems with your jaw and the muscles in your face that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). But you may hear it wrongly called TMJ, after the joint. We can treat the various disorders of the jaw and decrease associated problems such as headaches, toothaches, neck pain, dizziness, earaches, hearing problems, upper shoulder pain, and
ringing the ears (tinnitus).

POST-SURGICAL ORTHOPEDIC REHABILITATION

Sometimes preventing an injury and/or surgery is impossible. If you fall into this category and have recently had surgery we can still help you recover the function and strength to return to a life pain-free. We have years of experience helping patients recover from all surgeries head to toe, literally!
